Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) is an American actor, singer and dancer. Her early performances on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across stage film and television and she is continuing her award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the production. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over a Century. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
